Basket filter is an indispensable valve on pipelines for conveying tap water and steam. It is usually installed at the inlet end of pressure reducing valve, pressure relief valve and fixed water level valve to filter out impurities in the medium to protect the valve and the normal use of pipes. The basket filter is mainly composed of inlet and outlet pipes, filter cartridges, filter baskets, upper covers, sealing rings and fasteners. The material of the valve body is generally cast iron, cast steel or cast stainless steel, the pipeline pressure is usually 1.0MPA, 1.6MPA or 2.5MPA, the pipe size is DN25-300, the screen aperture in the filter is usually 10-500 mesh, and the material of the sealing ring For rubber EPDM or NBR. When the medium enters the pipeline, the basket filter will block the solid impurity particles out of the filter screen, and the clean medium will enter the pressure reducing valve or pressure relief valve through the basket filter. When cleaning is required, remove the valve cover of the basket filter, take out the filter screen for cleaning, and then re-install it.
Basket filters are widely used in chemical, petroleum, power station, liquefied gas, water supply and drainage, municipal engineering, urban construction and other fields. The following points should be paid attention to when designing:
1. The size of the basket filter should be consistent with the diameter of the pipeline, and the pressure should be determined according to the highest possible pressure in the pipeline.
2. Appropriate basket filter valve body material and filter screen should be selected according to the actual working environment. Cast iron basket filter can be used on low-pressure and low-cost pipelines. The pore size of the filter screen should be determined according to the medium in the pipeline. The opening area of the valve cover of the filter is 3-4 times that of the inlet pipe, and the pressure difference is 0.05-0.15Mpa.
Basket Strainer Installation Instructions
1. Before installation, check whether the bonnet screws are loose and whether there is any debris in the basket filter. During installation, the basket filter should be installed horizontally, and the arrow mark on the valve body should be consistent with the direction of the inlet and outlet of the pipeline.
2. After the basket filter works for a period of time, certain impurities are deposited on the filter screen, the ochre pressure will increase, and the flow rate will decrease. The impurities on the filter screen should be cleaned in time. The filter is a vulnerable part, and workers should pay attention to avoid damage when replacing it.
