1. How to choose valve body material?
Because the grey cast iron pipe is gradually not recommended to use, the valve body material should be mainly ductile iron, and indicate the grade number and the actual physical and chemical test data of the casting.
2. How to choose valve stem material?
Choose stainless steel stem (20 Cr 13) if possible, large diameter valve should also be stainless steel embedded stem.
3. How to choose the nut material?
Using cast aluminum brass or cast aluminum bronze, The hardness and strength should be greater than the valve stem.
4. How to choose the stem bushing material?
Its hardness and strength should not be greater than the valve stem. And in the condition of water immersion with the valve stem and valve body does not form electrochemical corrosion.
5. Material of the sealing surface:
① Valve types are different, sealing methods and material requirements should be different;
② Ordinary wedge gate valve, the material, fixing method and grinding method of the copper ring should be explained;
③ Physical, chemical and sanitary testing data of soft sealing gate valve and valve panel lining rubber material;
④ The butterfly valve shall indicate the material of the sealing surface on the valve body and the sealing surface on the butterfly plate; their physical and chemical test data, especially the sanitary requirements, anti-aging performance and wear resistance of rubber; usually DM and EPDM, or recycled rubber.
6. Valve shaft packing material:
① Because the valve in the pipeline is usually not opened and closed frequently,so the packing is required to be inactive ,not aging for several years and the sealing effect is maintained for a long time.
② Although frequent opening and closing,valve shaft packing should also be sealing good.
③ In view of the above requirements, the valve shaft packing is not changed for life or not replaced for more than ten years;
④ If the filler needs to be replaced, the valve design should consider the replacement measures under the condition of water pressure.
